Viva Verdelho Tasting Experience

The Hunter Valley is Australia's oldest producing wine region. The first vines were planted in the 1820s. Today there are over 150 wineries producing a wide range of exceptional wines reflective of their origin. One of the founding families of Hunter Valley wines, the Tulloch family story began in 1895 when John Younie (J.Y.) Tulloch accepted an unusual settlement for a debt – a 43 acre property in nearby Pokolbin. Tulloch took an immediate liking to the property and the five acres of neglected Shiraz vines it contained and undertook his first foray into viticulture and winemaking.

Immerse yourself in the history of Tulloch Wines in Australia's oldest wine region, the Hunter Valley. Tulloch is the home of Verdelho in Australia and we have been making wines from this varietal for over 100 years. Today we proudly make 5 unique wines from Verdelho grapes. Including our iconic green capped Tulloch Verdelho, Cellar Door Release Verdelho, sparkling blush Verscato, Late Picked Verdelho and Creme de Vin. 

In this experience you will enjoy a tasting of our 5 Tulloch Verdelho styles to showcase the versatility of this grape varietal which comes from the Portuguese island of Madeira in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Morocco. We have paired each Verdelho style with a tasty bite sized canapé** to help showcase the ease of matching different flavours.

At Tulloch we are proudly family friendly and inclusive. We have created experiences for both your younger kids, teenagers and non-drinkers. All visitors to our Cellar Door require a booking and your group will be seated together on the one table. We have mobility parking spaces available and direct level access to our Cellar Door. Guide & Support dogs are welcome inside. If you have particular mobility requirements please let us know so we can help to accommodate your arrival.

Kids Junior Experience (Child 3-12yrs) - Let the kids get involved and keep them entertained whilst you enjoy your wine tasting. A specially prepared junior experience with 4 different soft drinks & 4 matching snacks (nut free) will be presented. Children will be seated at the same table as the adult wine tasting. Please select the Child pricing for this experience. Infants (0-2yrs) are free of charge when seated on a lap or in a stroller. Please note, children are to be supervised by an adult while visiting the premises and all Junior Tastings must be accompanied by an Adult wine tasting.

Teens Kombucha Tasting (Youth 13-17yrs) - A sophisticated experience to be enjoyed by your teens and other non drinkers whilst you enjoy your wine tasting. A selection of Tea Gardens specialty Kombucha paired with a local cheese box. Please select the Youth pricing for this experience.
